BREAKERBOX is The brain child of singer/songwriter Christina DeNee’, and drummer/producer Scott Calandra, this Rock/Pop duo is born out of Buffalo, NY and are quickly getting a name with their unique blend of Hard Rock, modern Pop and Dance; pushing the envelope of female fronted rock music with big drums and a big voice!

Producer and Drummer Scott Calandra comes from a very diverse musical background. Son of grammy nominated Spyro Gyra producer Richard Calandra, Scott saw at a young age what it took to make a hit record and that dedication and hard work went hand in hand with great playing and great songs. With a love of funk, metal and 80’s pop, he brought his form of heavy backbeat funk drumming into the metal/hardcore scene on the east coast, recording and touring for years in other projects. Things changed when he met Christina DeNee’, he knew with her attitude and vocal skills combined with his heavy groove and direction the two of them could do something together that had never been done before.

Also born into a musical family, Christina grew up surrounded by blues, soul, R&B and folk music, but like Scott, always felt a strong attraction to heavy metal and rock. First hitting the stage on her own at the age of 15, Christina was a singer/songwriter and self taught guitar and piano player who spent the first few years of her career in coffee shops and mish mashed punk/rock bands doing anything that she could do get her songs heard, with moderate success. Things also changed for her, when she met Scott. Together, they formed Breakerbox.

BREAKERBOX started off as a trio touring up and down the east coast, as a "band in a van" taking their original material; which was written, produced and recorded in their own studio, to the masses. Instantly their no hold barred performances helped to create a strong industry buzz and BREAKERBOX was featured successfully at NYC clubs such as “The Cutting Room”, “Arlene’s Grocery” and “The Continental”. However, with the ever changing shape of the music industry, they decided they needed to start their own production company and build a strong team in order to bring their music to the masses properly. After taking some important meetings, the band took the feedback and songs they had been writing on the road, and went into their studio to produce and record their debut EP “THESE ARE STRANGE DAYS".

"A well rounded rock record combing heavy, melodic guitars, synth driven bass lines, and a strong groove BREAKERBOX focused on the strength of the hook and of the song. They pull you in, and don't let you go. Of course they top it all off with the intensity and soul of one of the best female vocalists heard in years." - (Frank Chambers- Billboard Top 100)

"THESE ARE STRANGE DAYS" featuring the music video for "Nobody Gets Me" got the band a lot of much needed attention and they began to rise above the noise level. National and International Indie Rock Radio put the band in heavy rotation, Social Media and Bloggers got on board as well and the word that #RockisAlive began to spread. A strong family of music industry sponsors soon followed such as, Audio Technica Microphones, Los Cabos Drum Sticks, Steven Slate Software, Daisy Rock Guitars, Native Instruments, PreSonus Audio, Gator Cases and more. These companies also began to feature BREAKERBOX and their ever growing brand.

In November 2011, Coors Light Live came on board to sponsor the "BREAKERBOX Hometown Launch Concert" in their native Buffalo; which sold out in a venue record breaking 20 minutes, turning away a reported 250 people from the door. The bands epic, high energy performance solidified them a spot opening for international rock powerhouse "SEETHER" infront of 10,000 fans at Western New York's famed "Thursday at the Harbor" where BREAKERBOX brought the biggest crowd in the venues history for an opener.

Capitalizing on the buzz created from their live performances, which also included sharing the stage with some of rock music's top selling artists such as "Theory of A DeadMan" and the legendary "Living Colour", BREAKERBOX was itching to get back in the studio. Already being big fans of his work on PublicRecord.com with Tommy Lee and his project Methods of Mayhem, as well as Rob Zombie & Nickelback; the duo set a meeting with engineer/producer Chris Baseford in LA. After a 15 minute meeting that turned into 4 hours; Scott and Christina knew they were embarking on an exciting new collaboration.

In the Summer of 2012, BREAKERBOX began co-producing new material with Baseford at Tommy Lee's exclusive Atrium Studios. Taking notice of the band, Tommy gave BREAKERBOX's first single "SUMMERTIME" his rock stamp of approval by tweeting it to all of his followers and personally inviting the duo backstage during "The Tour" featuring Motley Crue & KISS, starting a friendship that has brought Scott & Christina many great experiences and opportunities to network in the industry since that time.

Released in August of 2014, the "SUMMERTIME" [Official Music Video], the first single from that collaboration; went viral reaching over half of a million views. Both the Music Video as well as the "Behind the Scenes" of the duo recording at Tommy Lee's Atrium Studio are being featured on major YouTube rock channels and building a name and an exciting buzz for the act throughout the music industry...and this is just the beginning!
